Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup unsalted butter room temperature
  • 1 cup confectioners' sugar sifted
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 tbsp Crisco shortening to smooth melted chocolate
  • sprinkles Valentine’s themed

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 325°F. Line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
  • Cream butter and sifted confectioners’ sugar together until fluffy.
  • Add egg and vanilla, and mix until smooth.
  • Gradually add flour and salt. Mix until soft dough forms.
  • Transfer dough to a piping bag with Wilton 1M tip. Pipe 3-inch S shapes onto baking sheets.
  • Freeze trays for 15 minutes before baking.
  • Bake 18–20 minutes until edges are golden. Cool on wire racks.
  • Melt chocolate chips with shortening in a microwave-safe bowl in 20-second intervals. Stir until smooth.
  • Dip each cookie halfway into chocolate. Place on parchment. Add sprinkles while chocolate is wet. Let set.

Notes

These cookies are perfect for make-ahead gifts or dessert platters. Customize with white chocolate or almond extract for variation.
