  • 1 lb ground chicken lean
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 0.5 tsp salt
  • 0.5 tsp black pepper
  • 0.5 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1 tsp yellow mustard
  • 0.5 tsp onion powder
  • 0.5 tsp garlic powder
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 can tomato sauce 8 oz
  • 0.5 cup ketchup
  • 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • whole-wheat burger buns for serving

Instructions
 

  • Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat until shimmering.
  • Add ground chicken and cook, breaking it up, for 5–6 minutes or until no longer pink.
  • Sprinkle in salt, pepper, smoked paprika, onion powder, and garlic powder. Stir well to coat.
  • In a small bowl, whisk together ketchup, tomato sauce, mustard, brown sugar, and Worcestershire sauce.
  • Pour the sauce over the chicken and stir to coat evenly.
  • Reduce heat and let the mixture simmer for 5–7 minutes until thickened.
  • Taste and adjust seasoning if needed. Serve warm on toasted buns with optional toppings.
