Ingredients
  

Dry Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups old-fashioned oats
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt

Wet Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 1 cup brown sugar packed
  • 2 eggs room temperature
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract

Add-Ins

  • 1 cup chocolate chips semi-sweet or mix of chocolate types

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease or line a square baking pan with parchment paper.
  • In a bowl, mix oats, flour, baking soda, and salt.
  • In a separate bowl, cream butter and brown sugar until fluffy.
  • Beat in eggs and vanilla until smooth and combined.
  • Gradually stir the dry ingredients into the wet mixture. Mix just until combined.
  • Fold in the chocolate chips.
  • Spread the batter evenly in the prepared pan. Bake for 22–25 minutes until edges are golden and center is just set.
  • Cool completely in the pan before cutting into squares.

Notes

Add cinnamon or flaky sea salt for extra flavor. These bars freeze well and are perfect for packing, snacking, or gifting.
