Main Ingredients

  • 500 g chicken breast fillets sliced thin
  • 0.5 tsp salt
  • 0.5 tsp black pepper
  • 1.5 tbsp rice flour or all-purpose flour
  • 1.5 tbsp vegetable or canola oil
  • 2 tsp sesame oil
  • 2 cloves garlic finely minced
  • 2 tsp ginger finely minced
  • 1 tsp chilli flakes adjust to taste
  • 0.5 cup water
  • 3 tbsp sriracha
  • 1 tbsp light soy sauce
  • 0.25 cup honey
  • 3 tbsp lime juice freshly squeezed

Garnish

  • green onions sliced
  • sesame seeds
  • fresh red chili optional, sliced for heat
  • lime wedges for serving

Instructions
 

  • Slice chicken breasts horizontally for thinner fillets. Season with salt, pepper, and a light coating of rice flour. Shake off excess.
  • Heat vegetable oil in a skillet over high heat. Sear chicken for 2 minutes per side until golden. Remove and set aside.
  • Lower heat slightly and add sesame oil. Add minced garlic, ginger, and chili flakes. Sauté for 15 seconds until aromatic.
  • Pour in water, sriracha, soy sauce, and honey. Stir and let simmer 2–3 minutes until slightly thickened.
  • Add lime juice and stir. The sauce should thicken further and turn glossy red.
  • Return chicken to the pan. Toss gently until well coated in the sauce.
  • Serve immediately, garnished with green onions, sesame seeds, chili slices, and lime wedges.

Notes

This recipe is easily adjustable. Swap sriracha for a milder sauce, or use thighs instead of breasts. Best enjoyed fresh for maximum sauce shine and flavor impact.
